I haven’t been talking about this but I think I better start! For the last months I’ve been collaborating (in secret!) with electric violinist Mary Lou Newmark to create a new kind of recital for music and poetry. Ms. Newmark is a stunning performer with an incredible instinct for blending mediums. This is not going to be poems with accompaniment. It is, we think, a unique dialogue between systems. ‘Weather systems,’ if you will. On May 19th we’re hoping you’ll come see what we’ve been up to. The program is called Trading Storms and this will be it’s only performance.
