WORKSHOP with Brendan Constantine – “All This Useless Beauty…”

I’m thrilled to be invited back to the Fine Arts Work Center and 24Pearl Street to offer another morning workshop for 2024! For five days in June, we will write up a storm. Our quest? A generative workshop on the nature of Beauty, our personal relationships with it and its criteria as proposed by artists, philosophers, and other “beholders.” Sessions will include in-class writing, critique, games, and an examination of the criteria for Beauty across cultures and history. This workshop asks: is Beauty an opinion or an autonomous principle, a living ghost that leads or follows us? Come prepared to write and laugh and discover community.
